Lara Bell has been developing her vocal skills with JCSS for a year now. With next to no singing experience whatsoever, she is now playing the role of Lucy in an upcoming production of Jekyll and Hyde!
In addition to this, she has been offered a place on the BA (Hons) Acting Course at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London, which she will start in September 2011! The audition was based on both an acting and vocal audition which she passed with flying colours...Well done, Lara!

True Colors Personality Workshop!
SLS certified companies 'Jennifer Casby Singing Studio' and 'Provoice Studios' have teamed up with fully accredited True Colors faciltator, Lisa Dickinson to provide a great training opportunity, enabling individuals to understand and appreciate themselves and others!
It can be used:
• Within the workplace to enhance teamwork and individual communication or interpersonal relationships
...• With individuals to help develop self confidence, self esteem or self understanding around values and strengths
• In schools and other educational establishments to overcome issues such as bullying, negative attitudes to learning and develop interpersonal skills, which build appreciation of other people
During the True Colors Session delegates will:
• Identify personal strengths
• Remove obstacles for success
• Enhance interpersonal and professional communication skills
• Apply personal strengths to improve organisational & individual performance
• Better understand other people – both personally and professionally
• Strengthen the 4-C's to Success…
Courage, Credibility, Compassion, Creativity
• Once delegates have understood their own personality traits, behaviors and characteristics, they can start to develop knowledge of how this impacts other people. In a work based environment this is helpful when defining the effectiveness of teams and how they can use their diversity to approach problem solving and work together more effectively
• Through discussion and interactivity, the process helps teams:
• Discover positive messages about individual differences
• Develop a simple language for talking about unique characteristics through the use of colour
• Learn by actively participating in the workshop activities
• Maintain high retention of each person's unique set of needs and values

Great LAMDA Results for student - Kelly Anne Scorah!
Since October I have been working with student Kelly Anne Scorah, helping her to prepare for her LAMDA exams which took place last month! She was examined on both her acting and vocal skills, and performed contrasting character songs 'Noone But You' from We Will Rock You and 'Wouldn't It Be Lovely' from My Fair Lady. Kelly Anne received an OUTSTANDING DISTINCTION, scoring a massive 92 out of 100 for her overall performance! Well Done, Kelly-Anne!
Music Night - 09/04/2011
Several JCSS students will be performing at a Music night open to the public on Saturday 9th April! The event will include a mixture of jazz, pop, classical and rock acts!

@ 7.30pm - 10.00pm!
JCSS will perform alongside a live band including a full string section in two Christina Aguilera songs, 'The Voice Within' and 'You Lost Me'. Check out Christina's version of 'The Voice Within' by clicking on the title above!
The event will be informal and seating will be around candle-lit tables. Tea and coffee, etc will be available on the night but if you wish to bring your own alcohol, feel free to do so.
Please note, you are welcome to bring beer and wine etc, but the establishment does not have a license for liquer.
