'True Colours' Session!

I've just done a 180 degree turn from teacher to learner in a session with JCSS student and fully accredited True Colors facilitator, Lisa Dickinson. When Lisa originally explained that True Colors is a structured system which allows you to explore different personality types, I realized how much her work ties into my own. Speech Level Singing is about improving the voice but it's also about working alongside the individual - understanding their personality type to meet their needs, in order to achieve their objectives and help them to grow in confidence! JCSS Student - Laura Walsh Accepted to Royal Academy of Dance Amongst Many Other Top Schools !

Laura started vocal lessons at JCSS in August 2010 with nearly no singing experience and, since then, has been accepted to all of the Dance schools that she has auditioned for! Each audition included a singing performance, as judges expect you to be good at all 3 aspects of performing arts - Dance, Drama and Music, when pursuing a career in such a competitive Industry!

My singing lessons really helped me to build in confidence and develop an ecclectic repetoire of contemporary songs. The Speech Level Singing technique also helped me to resist the effects that nerves can have on your voice which was really useful!"

Chest Voice Is Your Friend!

Just taught a fantastic new student with bags of potential how to get into her lower voice - 'chest voice'! She says she has been struggling with it for years and by using chest driving vocal exercises, we've helped her find connection to it in less than 30 minutes. Great lesson.:-)
