Well done, Lucy Cooke!

Well done to JCSS student, Lucy Cooke who has just been accepted to the 'Performance Course' @ Access Music Birmingham, which starts this coming September! 

Lucy started having singing lessons only 4 months ago, after deciding she wanted to change directions with her higher level education! With absolutely no singing experience before 2012 whatsoever, Lucy has done amazingly well to get this far so quickly! Now she will continue to develop not only with her natural talent but also her hard work and determination! Well done!  

Problems With Pitching?

Many people complain of being tone deaf...I believe that EVERYONE has the ability to learn to pitch notes! 

Its just a case of figuring out how the brain can translate the information the singer is given, into the voluntary action of singing!

I have recently been working with one student who shall remain anonymous, who is now pitching like a pro! This is absolutely amazing as when we first started, she couldn't distinguish when she was/was not in sync with the notes played on the piano!

Vocal Coach @ The Message Trust

Jennifer now teaches at Wythenshawe based charity, The Message Trust, coaching Music students on the Genetik course! She helps to develop their vocal and performance skills which they are assessed on regularly by their course leaders.

 2012 will see these students putting these skills into practise at big Music events around the Manchester/Cheshire area!

Vocal Coach @ Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA)

EXCITING NEWS - Jennifer is now working as a resident vocal coach/visiting lecturer at LIPA! She is regularly working alongside first year University students, training and preparing them for future auditions with Popular and Musical Theatre repertoire!

Musical Director @ TheFunkyChoir.Com

Jennifer became Musical Director for Crewe based community choir - TheFunkyChoir.Com in September 2011 and has been loving every minute of it! The choir has grown dramatically in a matter of months and performed at numerous concerts over the Christmas period, singing a variety of Christmas songs and contemporary classics such as Bill Wither's 'Lean On Me', 'One Love' by Bob Marley and Aretha Franklin's 'Knew You Were Waiting'.  

The choir will be performing at the annual Holly Holy Day in Nantwich, Crewe on Saturday 21st January!
